Summer maintenance of forklifts, NEOlift's tips

2024-04-10 18:41:02

Forklifts are industrial handling vehicles. They are various wheeled handling vehicles used for loading, unloading, stacking, and short-distance transportation of palletized goods. They are widely used in ports, airports, factory workshops, warehouses, etc., with high efficiency, low cost, and High reliability and convenient service and many other advantages.
Now as the temperature rises in summer, people working outside must pay attention to avoid the heat. At the same time, forklifts must also take corresponding maintenance measures. Maintaining the forklift not only extends its service life, but also greatly improves work efficiency and prevents failures.

Ⅰ. Electric forklift maintenance:
1. After charging the battery after use, pay attention to replenishing the battery with water in time. During charging, also allow the electronic control and motor to cool down naturally.
2. It is recommended to stop the electric forklift after 4-6 hours of continuous operation and let it cool down naturally in a ventilated place for about 45 minutes before use.
3. There is a lot of rain in summer. It is recommended not to use electric forklifts in the open air on rainy days and not to use electric forklifts in water. To keep the electric forklift clean, you can use a semi-wet cloth to wipe the body (washing is strictly prohibited). Keep the battery part clean and free from dust. When charging, open the battery cover completely, keep the charging place dry and ventilated, and check the motor carbon brush regularly. If there is any abnormality during operation, The electric forklift should be stopped immediately and seek professional inspection.

Ⅱ. Internal combustion forklift maintenance:
1. Pay attention to the tension of the belt. If the fan belt is too loose, it will easily slip, which will reduce the speed of the fan and water pump. If the wind power is insufficient, the power generation will be insufficient. If the belt is too tight, the bearing load will be large, wear will increase, and power consumption will increase. Generally, press the middle of the belt with your thumb to ensure that the belt sag is within Within the range of 10-15 mm, if it is too loose or too tight, it should be adjusted in time.
2. Pay attention to battery maintenance. In summer, the water in the electrolyte of the internal combustion forklift battery is easy to evaporate, so special attention should be paid to checking the liquid level of the internal combustion forklift battery. The correct liquid level should be 10-15 mm higher than the plate, and the vent hole on the filler cap should also be cleared. It is better to add distilled water in summer.
3. Handle "boiling" with caution. When the internal combustion forklift engine coolant boils, handle it with caution. Do not turn off the engine immediately or add coolant immediately, otherwise the piston rings may become stuck or the cylinder block and cylinder head may rupture. The internal combustion forklift engine should be kept running at medium speed, the radiator cover should be opened, and the steam should be released. After cooling down, add coolant. When opening the radiator cover, the operator should stand upwind and not face the filling port to prevent being burned by the high-temperature water vapor sprayed out. Find out why your internal combustion forklift engine is overheating.
4. Pay attention to the tire pressure. Due to the high temperature in summer, when the forklift is working and the tire pressure is low, the steering will be heavy, which will aggravate the tire wear and cause "tire eating"; the internal combustion forklift has high pressure and is prone to tire blowout. The standard working pressure is 0.8-0.9Mpa for the front tires and 0.65-0.75Mpa for the rear tires. Regularly check the internal combustion forklift tire pressure and tighten the tire screws, and regularly refuel and lubricate the steering system
